Purple Mango Wellness Centre
Purple Mango Wellness Centre was a Green Gecko non-profit social enterprise that provided treatment spaces for visiting and local practitioners from all forms of holistic therapies. Services provided were primarily offered to the expat community using an affordable fee structure, which then enabled us to offer treatments to the Khmer community on a donations basis, depending on what the individual could afford. Included in those treatments was a weekly dental clinic, which offered fundamental dental care not only to the Gecko family but also to our extended Khmer community through our partner NGO network.

community dentist
Happening on a weekly basis, our community dentist, Dr Hour came in and treated children, students, and adults from local organisations and businesses on a 'by donation only' treatment. We encouraged patients to pay what they could afford, which helped support our program and allowed many Khmers to have dental treatments that they normally would not be able to afford. We are hoping that one day soon, Dr Hua can begin to offer these appointments in his own clinic, with the friendships he has made through Purple Mango.
counselling sessions
Located at Purple Mango were two great organisations, APTBY (A Place to be Yourself) and Penhjet Counselling Services where locals and expats could find someone to talk to, have a safe place to hang out and find strategies to help with their problems through one on one counselling and regular mental health workshops. Due to the success of both APTBY and Penjhet, they have moved to a bigger location down by the river. Please check out their FB pages for more details.
